Divemaster & Baja Experience Trip Leader
Abby first visited the field station as an intern during the summer of 2025. As an avid scientific diver with a passion for marine conservation, she quickly felt at home in Bahía de los Ángeles. She completed her master's research during her internship while assisting with whale shark monitoring, data processing, and supporting program participants. Her project assessed zooplankton composition and whale shark encounter frequency at different tidal phases in this seasonal aggregation site.
Abby now works for VSI as a divemaster and is the trip leader for the 2026 Baja Experience liveaboard trip. She plans to build upon her master's research in the 2026 field season, using science to protect this beautiful ecosystem while leading participants on dives to experience it from underwater!
